“Why Did We Do This Again?” EP Re-Release + New Single!

March 14, 2011; Greensboro, North Carolina

Ever wonder what happened to Redundant Raul and the Mexicans from Mexico? After months of touring together and writing new material in the same room, the drum/guitar duo have decided to head into the studio together to record demos for “Raul Raul,” their debut full length record.

As the recording process is expensive, Redundant Raul has set up a PayPal account where you, the fans, can donate as much money as you want to the Save the Mexicans Fund. You can donate on our MySpace, Facebook, or BandCamp. Any donation over 5 US dollars gets you an early copy of our re-released “Why Did We Do This Again?” EP with the first single off of our upcoming record. Anything over 10 US dollars will be returned with prizes to be thought of in the future, and a portion of all donations will be given to tsunami relief funds.

The re-release of the “Why Did We Do This Again?” EP is currently scheduled for April 26, 2011 through Redundant Records. The now 8-song release contains hit songs “Your Boyfriend’s an Asshat,” “Fuck the Internet,” and new single “Cold Toilet Seats can Die.” All songs recorded December 2010 - February 2011 in Portland, Oregon and Greensboro, North Carolina. Redudant Raul and the Mexicans from Mexico will be releasing spring tour dates in a few weeks in support of their new EP re-release and album fund. Again, please give as much as you feel like and then some. Thanks for your support and we’ll see you soon!

If you’d like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Claire Rinker or Hanaa El-warari, please call Claire at 555/555-2222 or e-mail Claire at claire.rinker@gmail.com

Redundant Raul and the Mexicans from Mexico were started just like any other garage band - in a local diner over coffee and a cheeseburger. Granted, shortly after formation, singer/guitarist Hanaa-mae El-warari moved to Portland, OR and drummer Claire Rinker stayed in Greensboro, NC.

Through months of correspondence via Facebook and text messaging, Redundant Raul are taking the internet by storm with their first EP, “Why Did We Do This Again?”, one of the first punk rock albums done completely through e-mail. Inspired by most drummer/frontman duos (the White Stripes, the Dresden Dolls, Blood Red Shoes) as well as Southern California punk and ska scenes, these girls rip the stage up. Between Hanaa’s complex & shouty vocal and Claire’s enthusiastic drums, this is one act you won’t want to miss.

Redundant Raul and the Mexicans from Mexico are currently working on their first full length record, “Raul Raul” and will be self-releasing via BandCamp under the label name Redundant Records.
